Chillingsworth,
is housed on the 300 year-old Chillingsworth Foster
estate in the beautiful, historic and quaint town of
Brewster. Set among six acres of lawns and gardens,
it has been the Cape's premier restaurant for more
than thirty years. The estate is also home to three lovely
Guestrooms.
A
second restaurant known as the Bistro,
offering a more casual dining experience, is located
in our Greenhouse / Gallery area. The Bistro is a
great choice for those times you crave Chillingsworth
cuisine, but don't have time for the seven course
menu offered in the Main Dining rooms. Lunch and
Sunday Brunch are also served in the Bistro.
Also,
don't forget to visit Kathy at The Bar! The Best
Martinis in Town... While there, choose from our Bistro Menu or special
Bar Munchies Menu.
Boston
Magazine says Chillingsworth… "is
home to one of the most enchanting dining experiences
in all of New England…in a dining room
teeming with antiques, fresh flowers and ultra
smooth service. Chillingsworth charms with the
luscious richness of French cuisine mixed with
a soupcon of brighter, lighter flavors”

Chillingsworth
has been selected as one of the Top 40 Restaurants
in America by Gayot.com. From
Gayot:
"Eating
out on Cape Cod has largely been a matter of which
dockside seafood house you prefer, with legions of
lobster shacks and places claiming to have the best
clam chowder in New England. But there has been a
marked change for better and better food over the
years, led by Chillingsworth. Set in a sprawling
300-year-old structure spread over six acres, this
is a major gourmet destination, maintained by owners
Pat and Nitzi Rabin, who close the place from December
1 to Mother's Day and move to Mexico, where they
run a vacation home named Casa Blanca. The place
has a fine antique charm in the main dining room
that is counterpointed by a modern, bright bistro
on the premises. Nitzi is the chef here and he offers
sumptuous French and American cuisine in seven-course
dinners or in the lighter à la carte menu.
Seared line-caught cod comes with jicama, apple,
sea beans, bacon, and cream with chervil--the very
essence of sublimated New England fare, while jumbo
squash and mascarpone are the filling for ravioli
with pork loin in a Beaujolais-and-rosemary pork
reduction. The precision of French pastry is demonstrated
in a textbook example of a chocolate pyramide with
fruit and in three impeccably creamy crèmes
brûlées."
